This is a happy face stress ball. I love trying to photocopy 3d type objects and seeing how the copier handles the edges.

I stumbled upon this book on a shelf today while thumbing through spines. I thought it was pretty ace so I scanned and copied it - the only thing is that when I emailed the black and white photo copy, the file was corrupted, so here is the scan in colour.

This week has been full of serendipities (of which I wont mention here). One of them has been stumbling on this work the day after the previous post was put up online. How often do we come across multiple photocopies of slides in two days? hmmm, ok, maybe serendipity is for those who seek it…
This image is from Rubric Journal - which I came across while trawling through academia.edu. The image is by Ido Abramsohn who investigates the ideological filters of collective memory, as well as the process of memory as a fluid and malleable part of humanity. The slides themselves were bought at the shop of a concentration camp at Majdanek. The publication features scholarly articles as well as work from contemporary artists.

I have a bad habit of ordering books from all around the country, and then forgetting why I ordered them in the first place. I’m sure there was a good reason - it’s just that, that reason alludes me. Today for example, I was delivered a whole lot of projector slides of Australian artist, Kevin Mortensen that were from the University of Tasmania, and I’m not exactly sure why. I am happy though that the copiers in the library scan colour copies to email, woot! another for the club

Here are two untitled copies submitted by Darren Jorgensen. He mysteriously placed them on my desk without reference or information, which is great. I am endlessly staring and guessing. Thanks Darren

Mattia’s photocopies involve a wonderful play with media, typography and design. He wrote to us recently to let us know that he too has a fixation on copiers. I can’t work out what material he used but there is an intriguing play with reflection and depth (perhaps black plastic?), thanks Mattia!

Steph Kretowicz is hanging out in Poland at the moment and so sent us a photocopy postcard in gif form. Apparently photocopying is a different kind of operation over there, where you have to hand your goods over to a man as a kiosk, who will press ‘copy’ at your convenience. Thanks Steph!
A handyman came to our house and did some repairs and left his clipboard. I called and told him it will be out the front on the meter box for him to pick up, but he hasn’t been back in months. A few days ago I had a peak inside and among the big fat wad of papers was these pre-photocopied wet paint signs.

Sunny recently sent us this exquisite and quiet copy. Thanks Sunny x

To be honest, I’m not too sure what Colin Schaelli does - he is somewhow wonderfully involved with minimalist furniture design + american apparel as well as being an art director for various books and things. He took some time out of his day to plant his face on a copier for us for a mid motion squashed grin. The texture of his beard is all too perfect. Thanks Colin.

Crazy-ass sailor talk from the new David Mitchell novel. It’s full of this stuff, and ninjas too.

Do you know our friend Carlito? we do. He hangs out in Japan and works for magazines like Paper Sky, MONOCLE, and Pig Magazine and keeps a tumblr.
He says, I reworked one of my works for you guys. Needless to say how much photocopies have influenced our generation.
I like to imagine everyone having this image in front of his eyes, ready to fill the void with whatever they want.
Thanks Carlito!
I have been making submissions to photocopyclub. You should too! This is the back of my bus pass.
Me and my monkey back in the day. I loved that monkey so much.
